Allan Gardens Dog Off-Leash Area (OLA) has been identified as a priority by Councillor Wong-Tam based on the feedback received from OLA users and local residents over the past few years.
Allan Gardens in Ward 13’s largest OLA at 2,650sqm and as a destination OLA, it is one of the most used in Toronto. It features separated areas for small dogs and large dogs, iron fencing, a dog water fountain in the large dog area, and is accessible.
OLA users and local residents have expressed concerns including but not limited to:
- Lack of maintenance
- Broken gates
- Gaps in/under fencing
- Fence not suitable for small dogs
- No small dog water fountain
- Rough, muddy, deteriorating surface material & holes
- No irrigation (urine smell)
- No message board
- No human water fountain
This project aims to address these concerns through a complete revitalization and upgrade. To do so, we need your input!
