What are Proposals?

Proposals are submitted and promoted by residents in the community. Residents are asked to collect digital signatures in support of the proposal (amend a policy, initiate a project, change parking regulations, etc).

Submitted proposals have 120 days to reach the required threshold of 60 supporters in order to be considered by Councillor Wong-Tam’s Office. This metric is designed to ensure community support. Without completion of this first step, the proposal will not move forward.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • It must fall within the policy areas and competencies of Toronto City Council;
  • It serves the public interest rather than your individual interest;
  • It does not discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, race, age, or socio-economic background; and
  • It does not harm others.
